OLIve Women is a new tailor-made program for women who have refugee or asylum seeker status. The program is free and offers a dedicated series of seminars for women interested in exploring opportunities to start or continue higher education, improve their academic skills for higher education, or develop their own professional approach. The seminar series offers lectures by academics, researchers, university professors and experts from various fields. Our program offers participants the opportunity to take part in current discussions and practical activities, to reflect and to exchange ideas. We believe that in this way the participants are better equipped to achieve academic and professional goals in their new country and to set them for the future. For this purpose, the participants are taught topics such as the legal environment in Austria and the European Union, women's rights, including the rights of women with a refugee and asylum background, speeches and presentations in public, job interviews, curriculum vitae and other topics. The seminars and activities are offered as part of the main program of the new OLIve program, which started on September 1, 2020. In addition to the tailor-made seminars, especially academic language courses, participants in Olive Women can join OLIve's core program in German and English as well as in academic lectures and in laboratories such as advocacy and photography.
