Welcome

"Europe has a long tradition in refugee education and many institutions in many countries are involved. For obvious reasons, most of them concentrate on the least educated refugees in order to help them integrate in society and the labour markets.

The needs of highly qualified refugees have often been neglected, and they ended up doing menial jobs in Europe. This is a personal tragedy for the refugees and a waste of intellectual resources for the host communities.

The significance of OLIve lies in its focus on the best educated refugees. OLIve helps them re-integrate in academic life and prepare for a career that matches their capacities. So, refugees are benefitting from OLIve just as much as the Austrian society."
